The Olio Lighthouse, a home for lifelong learners plans to open its doors in the heart of Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. October 2025.
We started Olio 10 years ago when we met as students with a deep love of the humanities and a belief in lifelong learning.
That has always been at the core of what we do, and that spirit will continue to permeate this space, both in the daily work culture and in the nightly programming - everything we do will center our humanity.
We’ve built up 10 years of special connections in New York City: artists, teachers, and practitioners of all kinds. You will be able to walk through the Lighthouse doors and have full trust in our curation. After dispersing our events throughout NYC for a decade, we now have an all-in-one space that can hold all of the different flavors of Olio.
Not only will we have your educational needs met with intimate lectures, readings, and in-depth seminars, we are making sure that all of our senses will be engaged in this space:
Music: We will have DJs and sound artists bringing specialized events, think BYO vinyl nights, close album study and listening parties, live music from the many musicians in our networks.
Study Halls: Calm study halls where you can focus on a project you’re working on, read a book, do a crossword puzzle, something for your meditative mind, but also surrounded by good company and music.
Circles: Drop-in support and affinity groups led by therapists so that we can tell our truths, learn new tools for communication, form mutual aid groups, and be a part of a trusting network that helps us all evolve in our personal lives.
Tastings: Great coffee, wine, and international liquor tastings with all of our new discoveries from OlioTrips and even some pop-up dinners for members.
Health and Touch: Physical practices like breath work, shiatsu massage workshops, yoga, dancing and more.
Social Gatherings: And of course, we’ll create meaningful and light-hearted ways to meet the awesome people in our community with Olito social club and Olio date nights.
No matter what is happening at the Lighthouse you can expect a warm welcome and a gathering of curious, smiling minds.
