Terms of Service
Think Olio Last updated: August 24, 2026
Welcome to Think Olio. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of olio.rsvp (the "Site") and the events, memberships, and venue rentals we offer (collectively, the "Services"). Think Olio is a Brooklyn-based lifelong learning and events community that hosts intellectual and cultural programming, offers a coworking membership, and rents out The Olio Lighthouse as an event venue.
By accessing the Site or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or Services.
1. Who We Are
Think Olio ("Think Olio," "we," "us," or "our") is based at The Olio Lighthouse, 603 Bergen St, Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, NY. We organize and run our own events and programming ("Olios") — we are not a marketplace connecting independent third-party teachers with attendees. Facilitators who lead individual Olios do so in partnership with or on behalf of Think Olio, not as independent sellers on our platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to register an account, purchase a ticket, or sign up for a membership. Some events may be open to a broader audience (for example, family-friendly programming); where that's the case, we'll say so on the event listing, and a parent or guardian is responsible for any minor's attendance.
3. Events, Tickets, and Bookings
Event listings on the Site describe the date, time, location, price, and any relevant details. We aim to keep this information accurate but may need to make changes (including to facilitator, format, or venue) and will do our best to notify registered attendees of material changes.
Purchasing a ticket reserves your spot, subject to capacity. Payment is processed through our third-party payment processor at the time of purchase.
Cancellations by you: Refund and exchange policies vary by event and will be noted at checkout or on the event page. Where no specific policy is stated, contact us and we'll work with you.
Cancellations by us: If we cancel or reschedule an event, we'll notify you and offer a refund, credit, or transfer to an alternate date, as applicable.
Tickets are for personal use and may not be resold or transferred for commercial purposes without our consent.
4. Coworking Membership
Coworking memberships grant access to designated coworking space and hours at The Olio Lighthouse, subject to the terms, pricing, and access windows described at the time of signup.
Memberships are billed on the schedule you sign up for (e.g., monthly) and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel by contacting us; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise stated.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate a membership for violation of these Terms, including disruptive conduct in the shared space.
Trial bookings are subject to availability and any limits communicated at the time of booking.
5. Venue Rentals
Rental inquiries and bookings for The Olio Lighthouse are subject to a separate rental agreement covering dates, fees, deposits, cancellation terms, and venue rules, which we'll provide once a booking is confirmed.
These Terms apply to your general use of the Site to inquire about or request a rental; the specific rental agreement governs the rental itself.
6. Your Account
If you create an account with us, you're responsible for keeping your login information secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know right away if you suspect unauthorized use.
7. Member Conduct
When using the Site or attending our events, programming, or coworking space, you agree not to:
Violate any applicable law or regulation
Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other attendees, facilitators, or staff
Damage or misuse The Olio Lighthouse or its furnishings and equipment
Infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others
Use the Site to scrape, collect, or misuse other users' information
Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone
Interfere with the operation or security of the Site
Post or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or discriminatory
We may remove anyone from an event, the coworking space, or the Site for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise disruptive or unsafe, without obligation to refund fees paid, except where required by law or our stated refund policy.
8. Content and Intellectual Property
All content on the Site — including our name, logo, event descriptions, photos, and design — is owned by Think Olio or used with permission, and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, reproduce, or use it without our permission, other than for personal, non-commercial reference.
If you submit content to us (photos, testimonials, feedback, social posts tagging us, etc.), you grant Think Olio a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and display that content in connection with promoting Think Olio, unless you tell us otherwise.
We may photograph or record events for promotional purposes. If you attend an Olio, you consent to appearing in such photos or recordings, which may be used on our website, social media, or marketing materials. If you'd prefer not to be photographed, let our staff know at the event.
9. Payments
All payments are processed through our third-party payment processor. We do not store your full payment card details.
Prices are listed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise noted.
You're responsible for any bank or card fees your financial institution may charge in connection with a payment.
10. Disclaimers
The Site and Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any particular event, facilitator, or outcome will meet your expectations.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Think Olio and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or Services, or your attendance at any event or use of our venue or coworking space. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the Services will not exceed the amount you paid to Think Olio in the six months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
This section does not limit liability where prohibited by law, including for gross negligence or willful misconduct.
12. Assumption of Risk
Attending in-person events, using coworking space, or renting the venue involves inherent risks of being in a shared physical space with other people. By attending, you acknowledge and accept these risks. Please follow any posted venue rules and staff instructions for your safety and the safety of others.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Think Olio harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Site or Services, or your conduct at an event, in the coworking space, or at the venue.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the Site or Services after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Services will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
16. General
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Think Olio regarding the Site and Services.
